What was the secret? They wanted to know, in a thousand different ways they wanted to know THE SECRET. And not one of them was prepared, truly prepared to believe that it had not so much to do with chemicals and zippy mental tricks as with that most unprofound and sometimes heart rending process of removing, molecule by molecule, the very tough rubber that comprised the bottom of his running shoes. - John L. OBA Cookie Swap

Last night I went to the Ohio Blogging Association Cookie Swap. It was my first blogger
meetup and the first non-running related blogging thing I’ve done. When I started this
blog a few months ago I didn’t think I would get so caught up in the whole blogging
thing. I had read some other people’s running blogs and thought it was pretty cool so
I decided to start my own. A lot has changed in a short amount of time and I made the
decision to be more active in the blogging community.

The swap took place at Wine Bar in Battery Park, I place I had never been to before. It
was really nice inside and we had a little part in the back to ourselves. I finally got to
meet some of the bloggers I’ve been following like Alicia from Poise in Parma and Julie
from Am I There Yet. There were several other bloggers there and unfortunately I didn’t
get to meet everyone but luckily Alicia sends out an email with a list of everyone who
was there so it looks like I have some new blogs to check out.  Here is the full list of everyone who was there:

Alicia from Poise in Parma plus Hans and PIP Mom
Amanda from Clue into Cleveland and husband Scott
Crystal from Eat Drink Cleveland
Jen from Why CLE?
Julie from Am I There Yet
Julie from ROJ Running
Kimberly from SMITTEN…in cleveland
Kristian from man-gi-am-OH and Ohio Festivals & his son Max
Lane from Lane Baldwin Photography and husband Nathan
Nidhi from NIDHIZZLE
Sarah from Cooker Girl
Stuart from sosAssociates
And Katie came with me!

Alas, I did not take many pictures, rookie mistake. Next time I’ll be better prepared...

Oh, and we got to take home some pretty awesome cookies!

The table of delicious cookies!  As you can see photography is not my forte.
Overall, I have to say that I had a lot of fun. Alicia did a great job of organizing it and
I’m looking forward to my next blogger meetup (karaoke... I think?).  I feel like I’m now a real blogger and not just a runner who happens to have a blog.

  1. I'm so sorry to be catching up on my blog reading so late after you posted this recap, but thank you again for joining us last week. You can be considered an official member of the OBA when you have posted a photo of me talking with my hands - so congrats, you're in!! :)
