What was the secret? They wanted to know, in a thousand different ways they wanted to know THE SECRET. And not one of them was prepared, truly prepared to believe that it had not so much to do with chemicals and zippy mental tricks as with that most unprofound and sometimes heart rending process of removing, molecule by molecule, the very tough rubber that comprised the bottom of his running shoes. - John L. Weekly Recap - Barefoot Progress

Warm weather this week meant more barefoot running.  This week's total was 4.36 miles barefoot, a new record!  I even got a little more adventurous this week and went on a 1 mile loop instead of the usual two half mile loops.  The new course incorporates more rough sidewalk and is definitely more challenging overall.  Also, I got a "where are your shoes?" from some girl as I ran by.  Here are this week's runs:

Monday: 1.08 miles barefoot (9:08 pace) 4.8 miles in Kinvaras (7:56 pace)

Tuesday: 4.8 miles in Kinvaras (7:33 pace)

Wednesday: Rest Day

Thursday: 1.04 miles barefoot (8:27 pace) and 4.8 miles in Kinvaras (7:43 pace)

Friday: 1.04 miles barefoot (8:41 pace) and 4.3 miles in Kinvaras (10:44 pace) w/ Katie

Saturday: 1.04 miles barefoot (8:36 pace) and 2.34 miles in Kinvaras (7:31 pace)

Sunday: Rest Day

Total: 25.3 miles

    1. She didn't have time to get her run in before it got dark so she asked if I would run with her.
